"Crikey, I don't know, like all of the rhinestones and the glitter and all of that, it's a lot, but you know, I think he always said it was really funny. He'd always go, 'I don't care if people remember me, I want people to remember my message and what I stand for,'" he added.
For Robert, Steve was just "the greatest dad" who showed people what it meant to really live your life at 100 per cent.

"I just hope to keep his legacy alive, his spirit, his sense of just love for life," he shares. "And so if I can bring that kind of energy into the ballroom and honour him and his legacy, then I've done my job."
For the competition Robert has been partnered up with professional dancer Witney Carson.
He's not the first Irwin to compete, with sister Bindi Irwin actually taking out the trophy and winning Season 21 in 2015.
In a huge move, Bindi, her husband Chandler Powell and their daughter Grace have made the temporary move to Los Angeles to support him throughout his time on the show.
Mum Terri Irwin will also be there too.
