Erin Holland announces her pregnancy following a five-year fertility journey

Aussie model and TV presenter, Erin Holland, has announced her pregnancy.

Holland and her husband, cricketer Ben Cutting, have been trying to fall pregnant for five years, sharing their heartbreaking fertility journey on the Something To Talk About podcast.

Holland shared that the couple has gone through 20 rounds of IVF, five egg collections, seven transfers, four miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy.

"I think the hard part about infertility and pregnancy loss is that beautiful naivety of just seeing a double line on a pregnancy test is robbed from you because the first time you do it, it's elation, it's so exciting," she told podcast host Sarrah Le Marquand.

"Then the second time you do it, you're cautiously excited. By the third and the fourth time, you think it's catfishing you."

Despite Holland's excitement for her pregnancy, she shared that she still feels cautious about the process because of her fertility struggles in the past.

Just nine months ago, the Aussie star opened up about her journey in a candid Instagram post

"Many losses, many failed transfers down, today was all about exploratory surgery, internal 'renovations' & starting testing from scratch again to try & find some answers to the soul destroying unknown," she wrote in the caption.

"Infertility feels like your face is pressed up against the glass of a club you so badly want to be a part of, but no one is letting you in."

"To all going through it, life can be tough ... but my darling, so are you. Hang in there."

On the recent episode of the Something To Talk About podcast, Holland detailed the financial toll her fertility journey has taken on her and Cutting.

"I added it up, and it's horrible," she said of the amount the couple has spent on trying to fall pregnant.

"It's a house deposit. We've spent $150,000, which is worth every penny if it works out, but so often it doesn't."

Despite their heartbreaking journey, Holland and Cutting had no plans on giving up, with Holland sharing that her pregnancy didn't feel real until the 14-week mark.

Now, past 20 weeks, she started to hit some major milestones.

"I'm starting to feel movement," she shared.

"It's an absolute bloody miracle to be honest."
