Long-time BBC radio host Scott Mills sacked days after signing off: 'See you tomorrow'
A long-time BBC radio host has been sacked, just days after he signed off his popular morning show with the words "see you tomorrow".
Scott Mills had been with the BBC since 1998, most recently as host of BBC Radio 2's flagship breakfast show, until his disappearance from the airwaves a week ago.
The British host, 53, presented the show last Tuesday. However, he has not been back on air since and it has now been revealed he was sacked over a previous 'personal relationship'.

The Mirror has reported his sacking is related to an historic relationship dating back more than 10 years.
He was originally taken off the air while the BBC assessed the information before he was told over the weekend that his contract had been terminated.
The BBC said in a statement: "While we do not comment on matters relating to individuals, we can confirm Scott Mills is no longer contracted to work with the BBC."
The BBC reportedly informed staff yesterday morning, who were said to be "shell-shocked."

"I wanted to personally let you know that Scott Mills has left the Breakfast show, and the BBC," she said.
"I know that this news will be sudden and unexpected and therefore must come as a shock.
"Not least as so many of us have worked with Scott over a great many years, across a broad range of our programs. I felt it was important to share this news with you at the earliest opportunity."
Clarke's statement also said the news would "also come as a shock to our audience and loyal breakfast show listeners".
"I will update everyone with more information on plans for the show when I'm able to," she said.
"While I appreciate many of you will have questions, I hope you can understand that I am not going to be saying anything further now."
The news even left BBC's on air-staff reeling. Shortly after Mills' sacking led the midday news bulletin on BBC Radio 2, presenter Jeremy Vine told listeners he was "taken aback" by the news.
"Obviously, I was taken aback by that opening story to the news. I had not heard anything about it until 17 minutes ago, when it was on the BBC website, and I only had the information that was given to you in the bulletin," he told listeners.
"I have nothing more, that it was allegations about Scott Mills's personal conduct, which have led to him being sacked. I have no more than that. Alright, on to today's show."
Meanwhile, another former radio show host, Steve Allen, took to X hours before the news was made public with a cryptic post.
"I have a feeling Scott Mills is going to be front page news tomorrow morning, nobody can imagine what's been going on, one thing for certain it's not going to be pleasant."

Mills began his career at 16 at his local radio station after bombarding them with demo tapes. After being given a week to prove himself on the airwaves, he was offered the 1am-6am slot, known as the 'graveyard shift' – becoming the youngest ever presenter on mainstream commercial radio.

He later moved to its afternoon 'drive time' slot before changing radio stations.
In 1998, he began working for BBC 1 as the early morning presenter, before moving to the afternoon show in 2004.
The show was renamed The Scott Mills Show, and later moved to afternoons. He remained at the helm until 2022, when it was announced he was moving to BBC 2.
Mills' new show debuted in the 2pm-4pm timeslot on October 31, 2025. It was announced in November 2024, he would be moving to the breakfast slot from January 2025 to take over from Zoe Ball, who was leaving the station.
He presented the show as normal last Tuesday, before ending the show by saying, "see you tomorrow", however he never returned.
Mills was promoting his radio show on Instagram as recently as March 21, when he announced his Big Guest Friday line-up.
Just one day earlier, he had welcomed former One Direction member Louis Tomlinson to the show.
And days before that, he shared photos of himself with Keith Urban.
Mills has been married to Sam Vaughan since June 2024.
While under very different circumstances, the matter is no doubt set to draw comparisons with the stunning demise of the Kyle and Jackie O show here in Australia.
Following an on-air argument between Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O, whose last name is Henderson, she did not return to her hosting duties and her contract was later terminated.
Sandilands' contract was then terminated by KIIS FM station owner Australian Radio Network.
