Doctors found a cancerous spot on his lungs during an MRI, the singer said in a statement posted to Instagram.

The What a Wonderful World singer revealed he underwent the scan because he suffered from repeated bronchitis infections in a span of six weeks.
"Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI to make sure everything was okay," he said.
"The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed."
He added that doctors caught it early, and said he won't need to go through chemotherapy or radiation once it's removed.
However, he will need a month to recover from the surgery.
"The doctors do not believe it has spread, and I'm taking tests to confirm their diagnosis," he said.
"So that's it, no chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.
"The only follow-up is a month recovery, and that means we have to reschedule the January arena concerts."
The concerts were scheduled for venues across North America.
He added a poignant message to fans, urging them to get checked for "even the slightest symptom".
