Jesinta and Buddy Franklin welcome their third child: 'The most special gift of all'

Jesinta and Lance 'Buddy' Franklin made it home for Christmas with "the most special gift of all".

The model, 34, and the AFL legend, 38, have welcomed their third child, with Jesinta sharing the joyful news via Instagram on Christmas Eve.

In her Stories, she shared a photo of the couple in an elevator, their newborn nestled in Dad's arms.

Jesinta also posted a gallery of family photos to her grid, the last slide featuring the new addition.

"My heart feels like it could burst," she captioned it.

The couple – who are also parents to Tallullah, five, and Rocky, four, are yet to confirm the newborn's name or sex.

The Franklins recently moved to their "dream" home, a plot of land on the Gold Coast hinterland.

Buddy told nine.com.au he and Jesinta felt it was important to raise their kids on a farm as they both have fond memories of growing up in the countryside.

"If you get the opportunity to do that, why not?" he said.

"There's no better way to grow up. if we're able to give our kids the opportunity to live on the land with animals, I think it's incredible... so that's what we're doing."

The Franklins aren't the only high-profile Aussies celebrating a new arrival this Christmas

MasterChef stars Sarah Todd and Declan Cleary welcomed twin girls, named Charlotte and Claudia, on Christmas Eve.

"Merry Christmas from our family to yours," the couple, who met on the set of the cooking show, captioned a beautiful photo of them holding their baby girls.

Meanwhile, comedian Tanya Hennessy is loving life in her own "baby bubble" after welcoming a daughter, seemingly on Christmas Day.

"Our beautiful baby girl is finally here - Scottie Jack Poole 🩷," Hennessy wrote on Instagram along a gallery of photos.

"I'm in heaven, my heart is exploding. My baby is here. My baby. She's everything and more and I've never been so blissfully happy in my life."

In her Stories, Hennessy promised to share more details later.

"I'll post more later, but right now my baby is here. I've waited so long for her," she said.

"So I'm gunna stay in this bubble for a big longer."
