'When is that going to happen for me': Robert Irwin wonders when he'll find a love like the one his parents shared

Robert Irwin has long admired his parents' love story and has since watched his older sister Bindi Irwin fall in love with her now-husband Chandler Powell.

Now the wildlife warrior wonders when his turn will be and where he might find that special someone.

"My mum and dad met when she was this American tourist coming over to Australia and that's also how my sister met her husband," Irwin said in conversation with People for this week's cover story.

The star stayed on brand by having different animals appearing alongside him in the wildlife-themed campaign, including snakes wrapped around his neck, a spider crawling on his arm in one picture, and a lizard held in his arms in another.

"Say g'day to our new brand icon, Robert Irwin, like you've never seen him before," Bonds captioned the new pics.

"Who better to rep comfy down under than the Aussie wildlife legend himself 🐨."

The campaign garnered plenty of attention in Australia and abroad which left Robert surprised.

"I did not expect the reaction it got," Robert told People.

But overall, he says his mission with campaigns and public appearances like this is to platform the importance of wildlife conservation.

"I feel like my whole mission of conservation is being listened to on an even larger scale, and it's more important than ever to come together with a sense of kindness toward each other and toward the planet."
