'It's devastating to her': Nicole Kidman 'tried to save marriage to Keith Urban' before filing for divorce
The news that it's over for Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban has shocked the world.
On Tuesday September 30, the 58-year-old Aussie actress officially filed for divorce from the 57-year-old country music sensation.
More details have emerged about the state of their marriage in the days since the split was first announced, and it's been reported that she wasn't the one to call it quits.
The official divorce documents for the filing cite "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind their marriage ending.
But according to a source close to the Babygirl star, she was the one trying to make things work and had been trying to save their marriage and believed she could.
"It's devastating to her. She's shocked," the insider adds.
An insider from Urban's circle told People on Tuesday that the country star has "just been going through some stuff" as of late.

But someone from Kidman's camp had a different perspective.
"He has been making questionable choices for some time now and this was not the case of them just drifting apart," said the source.
Others have claimed that the couple were moving in different directions, which has included Urban moving out of the family home in Nashville, while Kidman and their daughters stay there.
The couple share daughters Sunday, 17 and Faith, 14, and in the divorce filing she is seeking to be the "primary residential parent".
"What the sources are saying is that she is doing her best to keep stability while Keith is in a different home," entertainment reporter Segun Oduolowu told Today on Tuesday.

Kidman has been pushing to have her projects and work close to home in recent months, particularly after the death of her mother Janelle Kidman in September 2024.
As a producer on her new Amazon Prime show, Scarpetta, based on the Patricia Cornwell novels, Kidman asked that shooting could be in her home state.
The thriller Holland was also filmed in Nashville.
"Nicole is a homebody and just wants to be home with her family," a source told Page Six.
Meanwhile, Urban has been on tour for most of the year to promote his album High.
The couple were married for 19 years before splitting.
The two last made a red carpet appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 8, where they appeared as loving as ever.
The following month, they were pictured together at the Los Angeles Football Club vs Esperance de Tunis FIFA Club World Cup match in Nashville on June 20.
It was easy to assume their lack of public appearances was the result of them being busy working.
But there was also another hint there were problems in the marriage, with Kidman's applying for a residence permit in July so she could buy a home in Portugal.
Urban's name was conspicuously absent from the application.
