'How dare you': Model blasts newspaper over 'crazy' Met Gala claim
Supermodel Anok Yai has slammed crude claims she soiled herself at a past Met Gala, after allegedly being trapped in a constrictive jumpsuit.
In a report from the Washington Post, the logistics of bathroom breaks for celebrities at 'Fashion's Biggest Night' were investigated, owing to the number of extravagant, notoriously tough-to-remove garments.
One anecdote shared by celebrity stylist Mickey Freeman claimed there had been an unidentified model in an "elaborate couture sheer mesh jumpsuit" – which the Post claimed fit the description of what Yai, 28, wore that year.
Freeman recalled a moment during the event's 2024 iteration, where the model was "swept up in the grandeur and excitement [and] completely forgot about the zipper situation".
"Inevitably, [the model's] bladder decided to remind her," the stylist said.
While Freeman declined to name the model, the report stated "detective Google" had been used to identify Yai as the jumpsuit-soiler in question.
Taking to Instagram in the wake of the wild claims, the supermodel firmly denied she'd been the unnamed model.

"I usually stay quiet and keep to myself," Yai began the Instagram Story post, which followed a screenshot of the now-removed Washington Post article.
"But how dare you misalign my character and imply that I ripped my outfit and peed on myself during the Met Gala of 2024! Fact check next time! Are you crazy?!"
She went on to address the Washington Post directly, saying, "If you find any photos of my outfit ripped or urine dripping down my leg, let me know."
Freeman also jumped in to defend the model, denying she was the woman he had previously discussed.
"Nope! It was not Queen @anokyai", he wrote, tagging the model.

Commenting further on his Instagram story, he labelled the Post's report as a "hilarious non-story."
"I absolutely adore Anok, so let's not play those games on the internet! She was never part of the story," he added.
Yai's statement is the first the largely private model has made since previously going public with health difficulties last year.
Yai, who is one of the most in-demand models in the world at present, revealed she'd been diagnosed with congenital Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) – a hole in her heart present at birth.
"For the past year I've been dealing with this silent battle," Yai captioned a series of photos showing her in hospital.
"I incidentally found out I had a congenital defect overworking my heart and slowly destroying my lungs."
Following successful robotic surgery, the model stepped out in attendance at the 2026 Met Gala in custom Balenciaga inspired by The Weeping Madonna of Siracusa.
