Singer Taylor Momsen hospitalised after venomous spider bite during AC/DC tour in Mexico

Singer Taylor Momsen is currently on tour with iconic rockers AC/DC, but spent the night in hospital due to a venomous spider bite.

The Pretty Reckless rocker shared an update with her fans on Instagram after documenting the bite, showing the infection taking over her right leg.

The 32-year-old uploaded a post from her hospital bed, pressing an ice pack to her forehead and shared more details about the nightmarish situation.

"Or I just spend the night in the hospital…thank you to the amazing doctors who, well, they know," she captioned the post. 

In one short clip, Momsen was being wheeled through the ward and has a clear red patch on her leg, outlined in pen to track the spread. 

Nancy Wilson commented, "A world rock tour can sometimes be a war zone ! Heal like the wind and stay alert".

Momsen's hospital admission came just hours after she had posted that she was in hospital getting treatment for the bite. 

"Hospital today, show tomorrow, poisonous spiders are NO BUENO 🕷️🕷️but the show must go on, see you tomorrow Mexico City!" she captioned one post on Instagram. 

In the snap her leg was red, with blotchy patches all around the bite.

"Superhero origin story," commented one fan. 

Almost a week ago the bite first happened, and the former Gossip Girl star revealed the insect took a "chunk" out of her leg. 

"So it wouldn't be an AC/DC tour if I didn't get bit…" she captioned the video.

"This time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system so had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night…

"Add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl? 🕷️🕷️🕷️🦇🦇🦇 WTF."

Poking a bit of fun at the situation, she added the Spider Man theme song to the video.

"Ohhh my gosh. and you performed after??" one follower commented, with Momsen replying with three thumbs up emojis.

Momsen is no stranger to getting attacked on tour, and actually suffered a bat bite while on tour with AC/DC in May 2024. 

The Pretty Reckless was opening for the Aussie rockers during a show when a bat landed on her leg mid-show. She was bitten and the ordeal prompted her to seek rabies shots.
