Justin Baldoni camp 'very pleased' following dismissal of sexual harassment claims

Justin Baldoni has spoken out following the latest bombshell development in he and Blake Lively's bitter legal spat.

All but three of 38-year-old Lively's thirteen claims – which included claims of sexual harassment and fat-shaming from Baldoni, 42, – were thrown out by the court this week by Judge Lewis Liman.

This marks a significant win for camp Baldoni, whose $611 Million AUD countersuit against the It Ends with Us actress was also dismissed by Liman late last year.

While this was not the desired outcome for team Lively, her lawsuit was still allowed to proceed with the three remaining claims for retaliation, aiding and abetting retaliation and breach of contract.

Speaking to The Daily Mail following the dismissal, Baldoni's attorneys Alexandra Shapiro and Jonathan Bach reacted to this legal win.

"We're very pleased the Court dismissed all sexual harassment claims and every claim brought against the individual defendants: Justin Baldoni, Jamey Heath, Steve Sarowitz, Melissa Nathan, and Jennifer Abel," the statement from Shapiro and Bach read.

"These were very serious allegations, and we are grateful to the Court for its careful review of the facts, law and voluminous evidence that was provided."

They went on to add that the remainder of Lively's lawsuit presents "a significantly narrowed case, and we look forward to presenting our defence to the remaining claims in court."

Blake Lively's camp also responded in the aftermath of the dismissal, clarifying that the claims in question had been thrown out on a legal technicality.

"[The sexual harassment claims] aren't going forward not because the defendants did nothing wrong, but because the court determined Blake Lively was an independent contractor, not an employee," their statement read.

They went on to say that they were not deterred by the outcome, as the lawsuit at its core has "always been and will remain focused on the devastating retaliation and the extraordinary steps the defendants took to destroy Blake Lively's reputation".

"For Blake Lively, the greatest measure of justice is that the people and the playbook behind these coordinated digital attacks have been exposed and are already being held accountable by other women they've targeted.

"She looks forward to testifying at trial and continuing to shine a light on this vicious form of online retaliation so that it becomes easier to detect and fight," they added.

The case will be heading to trial on May 18.
