While Ruffalo's superhero character The Hulk has appeared in the same Avengers movies Spider-Man's starred in, their characters haven't shared any scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Although there wasn't any interaction between the duo in either Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame, the crossover was speculated after an "Easter egg" in a previous film.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted a Bruce Banner poster on the classroom wall in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.
This latest movie carries on from the events of 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which Doctor Strange casts a spell over the world to forget Peter Parker in an effort to save the multiverse.

That means this time around, Zendaya's character, MJ, doesn't recognise her boyfriend and Parker's forced to see MJ with another guy.
The real-life couple, both 29, met while making the original film in 2016 and have starred together in all subsequent movies, including 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The incident took place at Leavesden Studios, just outside London, with the actor reportedly suffering a concussion when a stunt went wrong.
As a result of Holland's injury, filming on the big-budget Marvel movie was shut down for a few weeks as a precaution, while the star recovered.
The movie - featuring a new spidey suit Holland helped create - is due out in July.
It's the same month Zendaya and Holland's other movie together, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, will be released.
