Shock as Celeste Barber splits from 'Hot Husband'
One of Australia's most beloved couples has officially called it quits.
Aussie comedy queen Celeste Barber and her husband of 20 years, Api Robin, have announced their separation, citing "wanting different things" as the driving force behind the split.
For two decades, Robin (famously dubbed "Hot Husband" by Barber) was a central pillar of her brand - from her gradual rise to fame as a local actress, to solidifying her status as an international comedy icon.
Fans who have followed the "Queen of Irony" from her early-career Instagram parodies will be familiar with Robin, who was a frequent collaborator in much of Barber's content.
Robin took to Instagram to announce the split, revealing that the last few months had been "incredibly challenging" and "deeply heartbreaking" for them both.
"There's still love and respect between us," the post read. "But sadly we are at capacity and have come to recognise we may want different things."
He then went on to say that the wellbeing of their children continued to remain their priority at this time.

Barber and Robin also share two children together who they have largely kept out of the public eye; Lou, who is around 14, and Buddy, who is around 11.
The couple wed in Bali in 2013, after more than 10 years together.
Robin has now changed his previous 'HotHusband_' Instagram handle to his real name, in addition to altering his bio to read "Formerly HotHusband_".

He received an outpouring of sympathy from devastated fans, who took to the comments to express their disappointment at this latest development.
"Proof that social media shows just the surface. I am sorry," one wrote.
Another reassured the social media star that he'd "always be Hot Husband in our hearts."
The update appeared to come as a surprise to some, with one fan saying "This is a shock to be honest," while another claimed Barber and Robin were "the last couple they thought they'd be reading this about."
Only recently, Barber brought her signature sparkle to Australian film and television's biggest night, hosting the 2026 AACTA Awards on the Gold Coast.
This comes ahead of Barber's upcoming Backup Dancer Europe tour, which "dives into everything from social satire to awkward personal anecdotes" and Barber's "lifelong dream to be a backup dancer for Janet Jackson."
The 11-city run kicks off on April 11th in Norway, and is set to round off in Madrid on the 27th.
