The celebrity couples who've lasted through the ups and downs of fame
It seems 2025 has been the year for celebrity break-ups that no one saw coming – but there are still Hollywood couples going strong, proving true love does exist.
Navigating a relationship in the spotlight comes with its unique challenges. While some couples break under pressure, some blossom.
Whatever the secret may be, these couples have stayed together through fame and fortune.

Denzel and Pauletta Washington
Denzel and Pauletta first met on the set of Wilma, a biopic about Olympic athlete Wilma Rudolph, in 1977.
Denzel played Wilma's boyfriend, while Pauletta played one of the track athletes.

The pair saw each other on set, but didn't officially speak until they met a second time at a mutual friend's party.
The next day, they both attended a play and happened to be sitting next to each other.
"Denzel and his friends came at the very end of the party," Paulette told People in a past interview.
"We spoke again. We were reintroduced. And then next night, I attended a play. And I got there late, so I snuck in and just sat down.
"I didn't look at who was around me, and at intermission, the lights came up, and we were sitting next to each other."
Denzel joked on Live with Kelly and Ryan that he was convinced she had planned it.
The pair married in 1983, welcoming their first son, John David, in 1984, followed by twins Malcom and Olivia in 1991.
The couple later renewed their vows in South Africa in 1995.
The Washingtons often show up for each other at red carpet events, including Denzel's Academy Award wins and Lifetime Achievement honours.
Pauletta took a step back from acting/music to focus on raising their children when Denzel began starring in the TV series St. Elsewhere in 1982.
The pair celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary this year.
Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson met LaTanya Richardson Jackson while studying in Atlanta in 1970.
The pair connected through their shared love of theatre and acting as members of the Morehouse Spelman Players, performing in plays together.
They dated for 10 years before marrying in 1980.
The pair welcomed their daughter Zoe Jackson in 1982, before Jackson famously began struggling with substance abuse issues.
LaTanya was instrumental in getting Jackson into rehab after the actor hit rock bottom.
His wife and daughter, who was eight at the time, found him passed out in the kitchen face down on the kitchen floor, surrounded by drugs and paraphernalia.
The Avengers actor said that was his breaking point, crediting his wife and daughter for "saving his life."
He has been sober for more than 30 years.
Since then, the pair have been stronger than ever, starting a charity together and supporting one another.
They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in August.
John Krasinski and Emily Blunt
Actors John Krasinski and Emily Blunt met at a Los Angeles restaurant in 2008 through a mutual friend.
The Office actor confessed he "liked" Blunt from the second she met her, telling her that as they shook hands.
On their first date, they shared a pizza at Krasinski's apartment in West Hollywood; a year later, they were engaged.
A destination wedding in Lake Como marked the start of their marriage in 2010, before the pair welcomed their first daughter, Hazel Grace, in 2014.
They welcomed their second daughter, Violet, in 2018.
Since then, the pair have starred side by side in the A Quiet Place films, playing on-screen husband and wife.
They celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in July.
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson first met on the TV sitcom Bosom Buddies, starting as friends in 1981.
The pair reconnected in 1985 when they starred alongside each other as lovers in the movie Volunteers, which is when their romantic chemistry became apparent.
In 1985, they hard-launched their relationship in their first red carpet appearance together.
They then married in 1988 in a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony, paying respect to Wilson's heritage.
Two years later, they welcomed their first child together, Chester Hanks. They had a second child, Truman Theodore Hanks, in 1992.
The pair began working together in 2002, producing the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
Wilson saw the film's writer and main actress Nia Vardalos' one-woman stage show and convinced Hanks to turn it into a movie.
It became a beloved film almost immediately, especially among the international Greek community.
With the highs of their marriage also came the lows; Wilson was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.
She credits Hanks for supporting her through her double mastectomy.
They recently celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary.
Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar
Iconic '90s couple Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar met while filming the horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer in 1997.
The pair were both seeing other people at the time, but they struck up a strong friendship over the next three years.
They had their first date accidentally after a mutual friend cancelled on dinner plans with the two of them.
They decided to go to dinner anyway, which is what marked the start of their dating journey.
The pair got engaged less than a year later, with Prinze proposing in April 2001.
In 2002, the pair got married in Mexico, before starring alongside each other in Scooby Do that same year.
They played on-screen couple Fred and Daphne in the film, and returned for the sequel.
Prinze and Gellar welcomed their first child Charlotte Grace in 2009, followed by their second in 2012.
They just celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary.
Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling
Eva Mendes confirmed she and Ryan Gosling met off-screen years before their first project together in 2011.
They filmed The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, sparking dating rumours later that year.
Mendes and Gosling were pretty private about the start of their relationship, appearing together one or two times before their first daughter, Esmeralda Amada Gosling, was born in 2014.
Mendes later said she never wanted kids "until she fell in love with Ryan."
Two years later, their second daughter, Amada Lee, was born.
Although the pair never had a public wedding, they have referred to each other as husband and wife in interviews, suggesting they did marry at some point in 2022.
The Hollywood power couple has been together for over 14 years.
David and Victoria Beckham
David Beckham and Victoria Adams met in 1997, when the footballer was playing for Manchester United and the singer was part of pop group The Spice Girls.
Because they were both so famous, they resorted to secretly meeting in car parks during their early dating days.
"There was nothing dodgy going on in the car park, not as seedy as it sounds," Victoria told the Call her Daddy podcast earlier this year.
She added there later came a time when David had to jump out of hotel windows "and do a walk of shame."
The pair have overcome a lot in their 26 years together, including infidelity claims.
"We've recently celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary - by the way, people said it wouldn't work, 26 years!" Victoria said on the podcast.
"We've had so much thrown at us and we've always just been there together and just ridden the storm, ridden the damn storm."
The power couple share four children and have supported each other at every step of the way.
From a club change for David to a career change for Victoria, the pair have remained strong.
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi
Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have been together for over two decades, and they're stronger than ever.
They first met in 2001 at a Rock the Vote concert, with de Rossi describing their encounter as "love at first sight".
However, the Australian-American actress was not out publicly as a gay woman, so the pair remained friends.
They ran into each other again in 2004, with de Rossi confessing she had been thinking about Degeneres.
After reconnecting, they ended their respective relationships to be together.
They went public with their relationship in 2005, making their first appearance as a couple at the Golden Globe Awards afterparty. de Rossi later noted that moment was the first time she had come out as gay to the world.
In 2008, one day after the California Supreme Court overturned the ban on same-sex marriage, Degeneres announced the couple's engagement on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The pair married in August that year, and have been together ever since.
They are celebrating their 21st wedding anniversary this month.
