Olympian Adam Peaty takes wife Holly Ramsay's surname after their wedding amid ongoing family rift

Triple Olympic champion Adam Peaty has changed his name on Instagram following his marriage to Holly Ramsay, the daughter of celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, amid an ongoing rift with his family.

Following the nuptials, where Gordon reportedly walked his daughter down the aisle and gave a speech for the newlyweds, Adam, 32, revealed his new name on social media.

He has opted to take his wife's name, officially changing his name on the social media platform to Adam Ramsay Peaty.

Holly, 25, followed suit and changed her name to Holly Ramsay Peaty on her own Instagram account.

The name change comes amid an escalating fallout with Adam's parents, who did not attend the wedding at Bath Abbey in the UK on Saturday, per reports.

Adam's sister, Bethany, was reportedly the only Peaty family member in attendance for the nuptials.

The fallout is rumoured to have begun after Adam's mother, Caroline, did not receive an invite to Holly's hen party.

At the time the 25-year-old shared photos of the weekend-long celebrations which were attended by her mum, sisters and a number of close friends, including close friend of the Ramsay family Victoria Beckham.

"Bachelorette weekend starts now ... I love my sisters and mama so much," Holly captioned the post.

An Instagram user, claiming to be Holly's aunt Louise Williams, commented on the post criticising Holly's failure to invite her future mother-in-law.

"I'm so glad that you are having a great hen do as a bride you deserve that. However, as a person you were divisive and hurtful towards a woman who I have loved and continue to love deeply. A woman who opened her home and heart to you," she wrote.

"You decided, for whatever reason, not to invite her, your prospective mother-in-law to your hen night yet Adam invited his father-in-law, your dad, to his stag night. You invited your mum (quite rightly) and even your mum's assistant, your sisters, your friends, my niece, but not my sister, your future mother-in-law.

"I have also seen messages passing between her and Adam (without my sister's knowledge or consent) about this and other matters and quite frankly I expected better of you and definitely off Adam.

"You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever."

Ahead of her son's wedding, Caroline spoke to the Daily Mail, revealing her anguish over the family fallout.

"I don't think they understand how much they have hurt me, it's as if they have cut my heart out," she told the publication.

"This is the first Christmas that I've not had my family together – my family is broken.

"Yes, I have my other grandchildren. Yes, I have my other children but my family is split because of the goings on … because of the wedding."

Caroline and her husband, Adam's dad Mark Peaty, were not present at the wedding.

Meanwhile, Holly's family, including Gordon, her mother Tana and her sisters Tilly and Megan, were all in attendance.

The family rift and name change appear to echo that of another family closely tied to Holly and Adam.

David and Victoria Beckham's son Brooklyn famously changed his name on Instagram to Brooklyn Peltz Beckham following his marriage to Nicola Peltz in 2022.

Brooklyn and his wife Nicola have been estranged from the Beckham family for years now, since a feud was rumoured to begin when Nicola declined a custom-made wedding gown from Victoria's fashion label.
