'Horrific and devastating loss': Rob and Michele Reiner's kids share heartbreaking statement in the wake of their death
Jake and Romy Reiner, two of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner's children, have released a heartbreaking statement in the wake of their murders allegedly at the hands of their brother.
"Words cannot even begin to describe the unimaginable pain we are experiencing every moment of the day," the siblings said in a statement shared with People and Page Six.
"The horrific and devastating loss of our parents, Rob and Michele Reiner, is something that no one should ever experience."
"They weren't just our parents; they were our best friends," the statement continued.
"We are grateful for the outpouring of condolences, kindness, and support we have received not only from family and friends but people from all walks of life.
"We now ask for respect and privacy, for speculation to be tempered with compassion and humanity, and for our parents to be remembered for the incredible lives they lived and the love they gave."
Jake, 34, and Romy, 28, did not mention their brother Nick, 32, in the statement.

On Tuesday Nick was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, accused of fatally stabbing their parents, who were killed in Los Angeles on Sunday December 14, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.
Romy was reportedly the one who found the body of her film icon dad, stumbling upon the crime scene when she went to check on her parents after a massage therapist didn't get a response from them at the gate, the New York Times reported.
She was the one who called 911, who also found Michele's body when they arrived.
Nick was arrested several hours after his parents were found dead in their home in the upscale Brentwood neighbourhood of Los Angeles on Sunday, police said.
Investigators believe Rob and Michele Singer Reiner died from stab wounds, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
Rob was the Emmy-winning star of the sitcom All in the Family who went on to direct films including When Harry Met Sally... and The Princess Bride.
Michele was a photographer, movie producer and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights.
The couple were married for 36 years and the shock news of their tragic death has the entertainment industry in mourning.
Stars who worked with both Rob and Michele throughout their career, both on and off the screen have shared tributes, in the wake of their death.
