AFL star Lachie Neale's wife Jules Neale speaks out amid marriage breakdown reports

Jules Neale has shared a firm statement to Instagram, alluding to a breakdown of her marriage to Brisbane Lions co-captain Lachie Neale.

Rumours first emerged of a marriage breakdown when it was spotted that the mum-of-two had wiped photos of Lachie from her Instagram account.

A report later emerged that the pair were "working through" private issues, a claim that Jules directly responded to in her statement.

"I want to make it very clear that I am not 'working through' anything," she wrote.

"I have been betrayed in the most unimaginable way," she continued.

"All I can do now is try to heal and do what's best for my children."

She concluded her post, writing: "Thank you for the love and support".

The Herald Sun reported earlier this week that the couple were understood to be "working through" a relationship issue.

The publication also reported that Jules may have returned to her native Perth.

Recently, Jules removed photos of her husband from her Instagram page. He still features in a number of family photos but is not visible on her feed.

Jules has also unfollowed her husband on Instagram.

Earlier this week, she celebrated her son Freddie's first birthday, sharing a series of photos from the celebrations to her Instagram.

Lachie did not feature in any of the first birthday photos and she didn't mention him in her caption.

"Turning 1 today. This little man, and his beautiful big sister have taught me what real love, courage and joy look like," she captioned the post.

"You're the sweetest soul Freddie bear, thank you for choosing me, for holding me up without even knowing it. I'm so lucky to be your mumma and I love you beyond words."

Jules and Lachie, a Brownlow Medallist, share two kids, their youngest Freddie, one, and a daughter Piper, aged four. They married in 2018.
