What David Beckham just did sent the internet into meltdown

David Beckham has sent the internet into a frenzy with just two words. 

Victoria Beckham teased she had a "big surprise" for the retired football great as she shared a clip of herself getting ready to decorate their Christmas tree. 

The former Spice Girl revealed their daughter Harper, 14, wanted a pale pink and lilac colour palette for the tree this year, and she only had a few hours to do it while David was out.

"OK, the tree is ready. I'm feeling like an over-achiever, I can't lie," she said in the video shared on her Instagram Stories. 

"It's a big tree, we have never been so ready for Christmas."

But as she spoke a door creaked open, and David popped his head in. 

"Be honest," he said to her as he leaned into the room.

As Victoria panned the camera around he said it again and she replied, "What do you mean?" 

The cheeky comment referenced one of the couple's most hilarious – and viral – moments from his Netflix documentary in 2023. 

During one episode, the former football legend repeatedly told his wife to "be honest" when she was talking about having a "working class" childhood during an interview. 

At first she snapped back that it wasn't a "simple answer," but he kept pushing her from just outside the frame.

Eventually she revealed her dad owned a Rolls Royce in the '80s, which was enough for David and he left the room.

The moment quickly turned into a viral clip, which he cheekily had no dramas recreating, stitching her up again on her own Instagram stories. 

David asked: "Did you really do that tree?" to which his wife replied she did but he responded again: "Be honest."

As she giggled, Victoria said: "Of course I did the tree, is it a nice surprise?"

"A very nice surprise Mrs Claus," he said from the door. 

In recent months, fans of the Beckham family have been offering up another rare insight into their life, with Victoria's documentary hitting Netflix.
