Why Ed Sheeran is leaving his beloved Castle on the Hill to settle in the USA
He is one of the UK's best-known stars, who once wrote a 'love letter' to the English countryside where he grew up.
But Ed Sheeran has announced he is leaving his homeland to settle in the US with his wife and children.
The singer-songwriter was appearing on The 2 Johnnies podcast on Monday when he revealed he was moving to the US to make it easier while on tour.

"I'm just about to move to America," Sheeran said on the podcast.
"I feel like I might be the only person moving to America.
"I'm going on tour there for a while and I have a family so I can't dip in and out. We're going and settling there."
Sheeran did not stipulate where he would settle in the US, but country music capital Nashville, Tennessee, is one possible frontrunner based on previous comments he has made.

According the The Mirror, Sheeran previously said while on a guest on the Call Her Daddy podcast he was a fan of the city, which is also the home of Aussie expats Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman.
"Nashville is my favourite city in the States and it's always been my end goal to move to Nashville and transition to country [music]," he said at the time.
Another possible option is to follow the lead of another red-haired Englishman, Prince Harry, and settle in California.
One of the downsides of his pending move will be his inability to attend his favourite football matches.

Sheeran is a fan of Ipswich Town football club located in Suffolk, where he currently lives. He even owns a 1.4 per cent stake in the second division club.
"I went to almost every game last season," he told The 2 Johnnies podcast.
"I think I can only make one this season because I'm moving to the States."
Up until now, Sheeran has been based in a large estate in Suffolk, England, close to the town of Framlingham, where he grew up and is immortalised in his hit song Castle on the Hill.
He lives with his family on a large estate often referred to as "Sheeranville".
Sheeran first met Cherry Seaborn when they were children before the two reconnected in the US in 2015.
They wed in 2019 and welcomed their first child, Lyra, in 2020, followed by Jupiter, in 2022.
Sheeran is set to perform in the US in a matter of weeks.
The Shape of You singer is part of the line-up at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Paradise, Nevada, on September 19 and 20, where he will join the likes of Maroon 5, Mariah Carey, Lil Wayne, Mariah Carey, The Offspring, Diplo, Tate McRae, Bryan Adams and Tim McGraw.
He will then have a break from touring until December when he will play four European dates in Paris and Munich, and Coventry and Manchester in the UK.
The new year will then see Sheeran kick off his Loop tour in New Zealand in January before heading to Australia.
