Since welcoming his kids into the world, Luke has been open about his experience as a dad.

He famously penned his fifth studio album Fathers & Sons, an emotional album which reflects on his experience as a father to two sons.

Just two months ago Luke became emotional as he performed a song from this album to a crowd in Newport, Rhode Island in the United States.

The singer broke down in tears during his set at the Newport Folk Festival over the weekend as he sang his son Whoever You Turn Out To Be – a song about watching your children grow up.

The emotional moment was captured by a fan in a video shared to TikTok.

The crowd cheered along for the country music star as he took a moment to compose himself.

As the song wrapped up to the crowd he joked about the emotional song.

"Now I remember why we don't play that one very much," he quipped to a laughing and cheering crowd.
