Channing Tatum makes rare comment as he opens up on 'painful' divorce from Jenna Dewan
Channing Tatum has opened up about his "painful" divorce from ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
The actor, 45, made the rare comments about the split, which occurred in 2018, while discussing his character in his new movie Roofman with Variety.
"Jenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young," he said.

"We tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half," he continued before trailing off.
"Not to go into all that. It's in the past."
The pair announced their split in April 2018, sharing in a joint social media statement that they had decided to "lovingly separate as a couple".

Dewan filed for divorce six months later and they were declared divorced and legally single by a judge in late 2019.
What followed was a years-long legal battle over finances and custody.
The pair welcomed their daughter Everly in 2013, and now share custody of her.
They came to a final settlement six years later, officially finalising their divorce last September.
Tatum and Dewan met on the set of the popular dance film Step Up in 2006.
They got engaged two years later and got married in 2009.

Tatum's reflection on his divorce came about as he discussed his new character Jeff Manchester's estrangement from his daughter.
While Tatum is not estranged from his daughter, he expressed that he could "understand" the experience as he is away from his daughter regularly.
"It's really tough not to have your daughter half the time," he said.
"I wish I could just have her all the time."

Both Tatum and Dewan have since moved on romantically.
Dewan is engaged to Steve Kazee, with whom she has gone on to welcome two more children with – Callum, four and Rhiannon, three months
Tatum went on to become engaged to his Blink Twice director Zoë Kravitz, after the pair began dating in 2021.
They split last year and Tatum is reportedly in a new relationship.
