Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie recalls accident that left her in a coma
Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie Watson has opened up about the accident she was in as a child that left her in a coma.
Maddie, 17, shared her experience in a video posted on YouTube this week.
She spoke of being "accident prone" and "injury prone" as a child ahead of the ATV crash she was in when she was just eight.
"I was in a coma, and I came back to life, and I'm very blessed," Maddie said.
"So yeah, I've just been very accident-prone. I swear my parents are amazing and they did not do anything to me."
Maddie's parents are Jamie Lynn Spears, who is the sister of singer Britney Spears, and Lynn Spears' her ex Casey Aldridge.

Lynn Spears reposted part of her daughter's video on Instagram on August 13, saying in the caption she was proud of her daughter for speaking out about the "not so fun" parts of her life.
In February 2024 Lynn Spears shared a carousel of photos on Instagram on what was the seventh anniversary of her daughter's ATV accident.
"Today is our #MIRACLEANNIVERSARY 🕊️ Every year that passes and I watch my daughter grow up, the more I realize how very blessed we are, and never want to take that for granted," she said.
"Again, thank you to all the healthcare professionals who made the life saving decisions, and thank you to each and every person who prayed for our baby girl. Thinking of Father Mark today, although he is in heaven now, he was always like an angel on earth for us, especially on this day 7 years ago🤍🤍."

It was in 2017 that Maddie almost drowned when the ATV she was travelling in became submerged in a pond while she was strapped in it.
In her memoir, Things I Should Have Said, Lynn Spears recalled: "The first responder got in the water just as the ATV was dragged from the pond."
"He lifted Maddie out and laid her down next to me. She was unconscious, her body distended, face swollen and eerily blue."

CPR was performed however Maddie remained unresponsive.
"Maddie was intubated [in hospital] and endless tubes and lines extended from every part of her," Jamie wrote.
Maddie eventually woke up and made a full recovery.
