'It's a daily struggle': Aubrey Plaza opens up about her grief after her husband's death
Aubrey Plaza has opened up about her grief, following her husband Jeff Baena's death.
The 41-year-old actress shared her "daily struggle" during a chat with friend Amy Poehler on her Good Hang podcast.
"On behalf of all the people who feel like they know you, and the people who do know you, how are you feeling today?" Poehler asked.
"Right in this very very present moment, I feel happy to be with you," she said.

"Overall, I'm here and I'm functioning."
Baena, a writer and director, died by suicide in January. He was 47.
"I think I'm okay, but it's like a daily struggle, obviously," Plaza added.
The White Lotus star compared her grief to the movie Gorge, which features two snipers guarding a gorge without knowing what is inside.
"That's what my grief feels like or what grief could be like," she said.
"At all times, there's, like, a giant ocean of just awfulness that's just right there and I can see it.
"Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it.
"And sometimes I look at it and sometimes I just try to get away from it, but it's always there."

Elsewhere in the episode Poehler asked how Plaza "stays on the cliff and not in the gorge".
The comedian explained that she has a group of really close friends who have been there to help her through this time.
"A group of my women friends… we have, like, a text chain and we do Zooms and trips and those girls make me laugh really, really hard," she explained.
"We've all known each other for so long. That's the best thing that makes me laugh. My funny friends."
Plaza and Baena started dating in 2011 and got married while quarantining together amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
They tied the knot on a whim, in tie-dyed pyjamas to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

In September 2024 the couple separated when Plaza moved to New York and they were not together at the time of his death.
Plaza, along with Baena's family, issued a joint statement following his tragic passing.
"This is an unimaginable tragedy," they wrote.
"We are deeply grateful to everyone who has offered support. Please respect our privacy during this time."
A month after his death she made her first public appearance for the SNL 50 anniversary special, honouring him by wearing a tie-dye shirt.
