Australian music legend Col Joye dies age 89

Australian music legend Col Joye has died aged 89.

The country, pop and rock and roll singer, whose real name was Colin Frederick Jacobsen, died on August 5. 

He was the first rock and roll singer to have a number one record Australia-wide.

The news was shared by Ben Fordham on his 2GB radio show on Wednesday morning, with others from the industry calling in to share memories of the entertainer.
