Julian McMahon's cause of death has been revealed, just days after news of his shock passing at the age of 56.
The Australian actor's wife announced his death on Sunday, revealing the star - best known for roles in TV shows Charmed and Nip/Tuck - had been fighting a cancer battle.
Now, further details have come to light on the Sydney-born Hollywood star's private health battle.

McMahon died from lung metastasis as a result of head and neck metastatic cancer, according to a Cremation Approval Summary Report from the Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office in Florida obtained by People magazine.
The father-of-one died in Clearwater, Florida, on July 2 and the US publication reports his remains have since been cremated.
His daughter Madison Elizabeth McMahon, who he shares with second wife Brooke Burns, posted a tribute to her beloved father during the week.
She remembered him by re-posting a black and white image of the actor, accompanied by the Van Morrison track Sometimes We Cry, believed to be McMahon's favourite song.

McMahon's third wife Kelly Paniagua, who he married in 2014, announced the news of his shock death in a statement to Deadline.
"With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer," she said.
"Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.

The actor who broke into Hollywood after starting on soaps The Power, The Passion, as well as Home & Away, was the son of former Australian prime minister Billy McMahon and wife Sonia McMahon.
It was on Home & Away he met his first wife was Dannii Minogue, with the Aussie power couple marrying in 1994 and splitting less than two years later.
