Beyoncé forced to halt show after being left hanging mid-air in prop car after 'scary' malfunction: 'Stop!'

Beyoncé brought her hometown show to a halt after she got caught up in a "scary" stage malfunction.

The star was performing her song 16 Carriages from a suspended car during the first of her two Cowboy Carter shows in Houston, Texas.

Then the prop car, hanging over the crowd, began to tilt mid-air and came to a halt, leaving her fans scared for her safety.

Beyonce Houston show malfunction

"Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop," she said as she stopped performing mid-song.

The singer, who appeared to be wearing a harness, held on as she sat on the tilted prop and calmly waited to be lowered to safety.

The "scary" moment was shared in a TikTok video taken by a fan. The crowd watched on as she patiently waited for the suspended car to be lowered to safety.

"Get her down, she sounds scared," members of the crowd shouted out as she hung above them.

"Thank y'all for your patience," she said to her fans as they cheered for her.

As the prop inches closer to the ground, it stops tilting and Beyoncé adjusts her position on to of the car before the crowd lights are turned off.

Once the car reaches the ground, security help Beyoncé out of the prop vehicle.

The star briefly exited through the stage floor before returning moments later to finish the performance.

When she returned to stage, the star instantly lightened the mood telling her fans, "if I ever fall, I know y'all would catch me".

The heartfelt comment inspired loud cheers and applause from her fans who watched on with nerves as she hung over the stage.

"Omg she scared me," a fan, who captured the moment in a TikTok video, wrote.

"So glad she's safe and nothing happened," they continued before adding, "somebody getting fired".

"Even in scary times, she's still professional," another fan wrote about the moment.
